Comment-I recommend that visitors to Disneyland go in the Winter, as I found that the lines weren't as long as you have mentioned in the Disneyland part of your Home page.I also recommend that everyone should see the night show 'Fantasmic', since I thought this was very beautiful and spectacular.

Comment-The Motts Miniatures Museum, formerly located inside Knott's Berry Farm from 1958 to 1992 was forced to close in 1992. Only the retail portion of the company is still open. The Mott family is looking for a way to re-open the museum to the public. The museum has been in storage since 1992 and has not been viewed by the public since that time. The Mott family is willing to open a portion of the musuem at its storage facility for viewing by the MEDIA ONLY in an attempt to gain awareness for the museum in its quest for a new permenant home. If you would like to learn more about the museum you can visit our web site at: http://members.aol.com/mottsminis/ There you can learn about the history of the museum on our Museum page and also see some pictures of a few of the exhibits.

Comment-Wow! I really disagree with your comments relative to "Hamburger". Permit me to say that I'm a native here and I grew up on hamburgers. Gosh, I remember hanging out at Herbert's on Fairfax&Beverly as a teen. But I think that things have changed. We're more diverse and many people are "in to health" which translates to de-emphasizing beef in favor of foods that perceived to be "better for you" such as chicken and fish. Further the major chais have invested heavily into research which has maximized profit at the expense of taste and texture. No to cardboard hamberger?

Reply-Wow! I never realized anyone could disagree with me. But I guess there is room enough in the gastronomic world for the two of us. ( I just hope noone else has a different food philosophy!) But you are right. One of the things California is doing to promote healthy diet is to serve smaller portions as part of the California Cuisine. They are getting away from emphasizing 'getting your money's worth' with a 24 oz. steak and 2 lb. potato. So if you are REALLY hungry don't go to a trendy place.

Comment-You and I both know that people love networks, and you did a wonderful job on this site, however, do in the future consider that many take advantage of others, and those who read about the grunion do go far overboard in catching more than they ever eat which is and for good reason, is a crime. As fun as it is to go watching the fish come ashore, the line should be drawn there, and they should have the right to spawn without having to flee from outstretched hands, shouldn't they? There once was a push to halt the catch of grunions when they spawned just as the turtles and tortoises laying eggs, and some did abide by the law, but others just didn't do the proper legal research to find the codes that govern. It should be a conscientious person that weighs the outcome of this type of activity that falls in the category of hunting and poaching. Thanks. As for the webpages, you did a work. I have no negative criticism on the rest of the choices, only on the grunions. Please don't take it personally. Thanks again.

Reply-Thank you for your comments. I agree that there is no need to take more grunion than you will eat. In my case I don't even take a bucket. We just catch them and let them go. At the moment I don't believe grunion are on the endangered list. I think you can find them in your local fish market under the name 'smelt'.

Comment-I was very impressed with your guide to Los Angeles Visitors. I am writing to you because I was very interested in the Disneyland "Special Offer" 5 day passes for $59. I could not find any more information about it on your page besides the headlines. I would appreciate it very much if you would let me know how to obtain the passes. Thank you kindly.

Reply-The 'Funrise Morning' tickets are apparently not available through Disneyland itself but are sold at most of the hotels and motels around Disneyland. I noticed it at two that I visited. If you are not staying at a local hotel, just stop in on your way to the park.

I hope you have a good time. (Getting in an hour early is really worth it if you want to see Indiana Jones.)

Comment- I was looking for information (and possibly a picture) for the restaurant in
California called the QE2(?). I believe it is a ship/restaurant next to the exhibit of the Spruce Goose.

It would be nice if you had pictures of the places you are featuring.

Reply-The Queen Mary is docked next to the dome which used to house the Spruce Goose (moved to Oregon.) This is mentioned under the hotel section as one of my favorite places to stay and a comparative bargain. It has several restaurants and a great lounge. Sir Winston's has the most formal dining. There is also an oyster bar/ brunch cafe as well as several snack stands. They may charge $7 or $8 to board if you are not staying there. There is a good Cajun restaurant close by and several good ones across the harbor in Long Beach.

Comment-We would like to receive your california visitors guide showing your best hotel deals and car rentals, we will be arriving from vancouver, canada on Nov.10,95 to los angeles.

Reply-I'm sorry but I'm not that official yet. However if you will e-mail your proposed itinerary, I will try to make some recommendations. You should have no trouble getting reservations. Let me know if you have kids and their ages for appropriate sights.

San Diego has aircraft carrier tours for 12 years and up. They also have a 3-masted sailing ship, the Star of India, which is a maritime museum. In Balboa Park is a model train museum and at Point Loma is an old lighthouse plus tidepools. An hour east at Campo is a real train museum including a train ride into the desert.

comment-Ventura is a nice place to stay and is closer to LA than Santa Barbara. One fun activity is to take a boat ride to the Channel Islands. Reservations can be made through Island Packers in the Ventura Harbor.

Reply-Great idea. The phone number there is (805) 642-1393. The last I heard it was about $30 for adults and $15 for kids. There is also a nice visitors center near the departure point in Ventura Harbor.
